Multideity of Philosophies

img_3275

“There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”

― William Shakespeare, Hamlet

I believe in the above quote completely. I have witnessed it in the many unexplained experiences I have had and through writers of a multideity of philosophies, as the deities of science, philosophy and psychology or things of art and religion.  These “more things” as the high ideals that we believe in; from conspiracy theory, to strange evil occult directives, or even in the loving brilliance of things viewed thought the eyes of wise clairvoyance!

Currently there is a new hurricane in Florida called Matthew, and so far, it has been blamed on president Barack Obama. Rush Limbaugh has blamed it on left-wing conspiracists. I am reading the Ascension Mysteries by David Wilcock, and I am wondering what the insider government is sharing about this storm. It could be evil extraterrestrials fighting the beneficent extraterrestrials which parallels the current politics between the evil Cabal and the compassionate Alliance. Yet today, I reflect back on a book that speaks of a hurricane in Florida from 1904.

I took The Real World of Fairies off the bookshelf today. It is written by Dora van Gelder. She gives a remarkable firsthand account of a Hurricane in Miami, Florida. It is all included in Chapter 12 of her book. This book was originally published in 1904. Mine is a reprint from the Theosophical Publishing House. My edition is 1978. I originally read it in the mid-1980s. The book is available now at amazon.com.

Dora’s accounts in her book are based on her first person clairvoyance.  She speaks by means of telepathy with beings she calls water fairies, sea angels and angels of the hurricane. She affirms that these beings are involved in a creative work with nature to bring balance. Whether you believe in what she is saying or not, it is very imaginary, profound and poetic. She also holds true to a person concerned about the balance of nature as current scientists are about global warming and climate change.

“…Human beings will inevitable think that the water fairies, sea angles, and especially the angel of the hurricane himself are bad or evil, because to us they have been destroying life. But this is not so. They have destroyed forms, but they have not destroyed the life within the forms, for life cannot die. MOREOVER, THESE BEINGS HAVE PERFORMED THEIR FUNCTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH NATURAL LAW. Men destroy property, one another and the whole face of nature in times of war or for personal gain, and they read their own motives into nature. But nature has no personal feelings. All this destruction is accomplished impersonally, and even, strange to say, with a feeling of love, because the host of angels and fairies never wanted to kill anything and tries to save as much as possible. How different from war, where we try to destroy everything!”

As many books I have read over time with differing perspectives, Dora’s insights wake me up to the continuity, power and beauty of nature. Her small book is fun to read and I recommend it,  especial the last chapter entitled Hurricane.

The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way. Some see nature all ridicule and deformity… and some scarce see nature at all. But to the eyes of the man of imagination, nature is imagination itself. ~William Blake

On a day when it’s too hot outside to play and when my back is aching so, I happened upon a delicious film. A simple true story about a mother looking for her lost son, and a journalist that helps her find him. The journalist acts just like a real annoying son. Many interesting heartfelt ‘twists and turns’ in this film!!

Makes me appreciate my two sons all the more.

Round-Up 30 minute Maniac.

Mockingly nasty at us, as we stood up in front of the Fonda Theater:  an older man on a bike yelled at us and the punk marquee;
“Ha ha maybe forty years ago.”

Saturday Night 2014

Hollywood, CAL

In line: In front of us were a twenty year old and in back a couple about my age. These types of punk shows bring out the underground punk community. The good and disgusting levels. I said it once and you will read it again. I love it so much my head almost burst last night.

Smiling Punk woman and son!!

My goal is to dance like a maniac to GBH’s – Leather, Bristles, Studs and Acne (FULL ALBUM). in a years’ time. I use to back in the day some thirty years ago. A challenge to my high cholesterol, border line diabetes and high blood pressure.
Last night I could hardly make it through lycanthropy while fighting off some guy who wanted to continually thrown son up on stage. Even though son liked it. No means no. Up front stage was hot. All were intimated by the solar flares of sun burning in the Fonda Theater. A halo hot sauna of extreme is how it was there. My head almost exploded!! A full house.

The 5th Wave at the Fonda Theater pic by Hudley

The 5th Wave slashed the theater with some questionable lyrics, mixed with saxophone and trombone ska. Excellent! Their fans shining. I was very impressed by the courtesy of the young punk women this evening. A smile was easily shared and that communal feelings of a punk rock community ran in my heart. Strangely different from my generation. I was very impressed indeed. A lot of women in groups and alone gave me hugs for having a son with me. I hope son takes advantage of this when he gets beyond my reach, because now he has a silence about him that I respect.

gbh_300x600The Ads were so satisfying I cried. I love them and again always superimposed images from over the years blended with the reality of now. Fast songs have matured nicely into longer ones. Remarkable!
GBH were wild as they always are. Yet, they were a little rushed. I hear it is an intense tour. Colin’s voice was hoarse yet it was hard to tell over the audience singing their songs. Colin made a stab at the fans in the balcony who were not moving. Who were just sitting there as being lazy and with other critiques? I don’t know why so many young punks came up to me trying to exchange my receipt with theirs so they could sit in the balcony? It all was a bit confusing from my perspective.
Fun and eye-opening show with the usual subtle instilled words for those listening!!

We enjoy our punk rock community…so go screw Mr. Bike man over 50! This 50 something year old loves it still!! Even if you are in better shape… ya just wait until next year.

“…and those of you in the balcony can just rattle your jewelry.” John Lennon ?

Coagula Curatorial

Curated by Kelly Tompson

Reception

974 Chung King Rd. Los Angeles

This consciousness simply happens–as moments of synchronicity happen, as symbol happen…We know from both Plato and Jung thit its health is its psychological integrity and that eros is the integration factor which binds, holds together, and conjoins opposites” Pg. 87 The Myth of Analysis by James Hillman.

Sober and alert we went to the art event. The bases of two friends that have lingered if only indirectly over time, have come together. Alice Bag and Matt Coagula and a community of their fans and friends

I found out that it was an obligation not an inspiration. My heart and mind had a reflective discussion while driving on the 101 north towards home. I realize the pain and discontent I felt were mine alone.

“Mom how you doing back there?”

The crew consisted of oldest and youngest son in the front seats. One was driving. I was in the back of the car. Sons and I had bellies full of Chinese food from Foo Chow Restaurant, because they did not have the snail like nature to stand around and feel and observe like their mother. This I get from Dad.

“Are you finished time to go don’t you think?”

“I think I need to hang and observe the crowd and check out a few of the faces!”

“Mom, these people seem fake to me.”

“It is the art scene and socializing…it is never easy.”

I realize I cannot blame my kids because at their age I know an event like this…lets see, something would have been destroyed. Breaking wine bottles against the concrete walls the “guilty we” would have run into the night. That was a different crew at a different time. These angers of a past youthful generation have not passed on to my kids.

“Look there is Alice dressed in pink swaying to the lady singing!”

image

With close friends around her I did not want to go up to say hello because the picture was the perfect symbol for this event. Alice as a beautiful expression or mandala. Earlier Matt gave us a quick handshake with art talk smile.

Oldest son offered to drive me to the art event and China town’s twilight delighted their eyes into a realm of Dragon Ball Z.

I was disoriented by flashbacks of a punk rock fog.

As we mature finding a community to create with and grow with is important. Sharing who we are, as in art or music, at any particular time and place is essential to a worthy life.

This is what I feel Kelly, Alice and Matt have achieved this evening.

eros & psyche

Cosmos and Psyche by Richard Tarnas

th

I am reading this book now! I found out about it through a WordPress site that I visit called Holes To Heavens by Adam Sommer. Adam has a great site to visit and is an astrologer.
Cosmos and Psyche by Richard Tarnas is an amazing book about human consciousness. He takes us on a journey of the humanities and the mind, and patterns of being. Richard Tarnas is a cultural historian and professor of philosophy and depth psychology. The title of his book defines the contents of the chapters. The relationship of us with the cosmos is a fascinating subject to me.
As a Romantic, I recommend this as a must read book, and a book to have available on your favorite bookshelf. It is a delightfully wordy, intense and insightful book that incorporates history, culture and spirituality. I feel I have, so far, grasped the thesis of Richards’s book as:

Above all we must awaken to and overcome the great hidden anthropocentric projection that has virtually defined the modern mind: the pervasive projection of soullessness onto the cosmos by the modern self’s own will to power.( page 41 paragraph two)

Understanding what Richard is telling us is so very important to know.  In our modern time of discord, and at times of hopelessness, we can develop a relationship with our inner world, our outer world and the cosmos in a new and creative way. In his book we find some old friends, the foresight of Blake, Jung and Goethe resonate in his book as affirmations of a new and hopeful world.

Synchronicity is like breathing…as above so below!!

Varinia and Spartacus

If you have not viewed this film you must! It is directed by Stanley Kubrick which always guarantees and interesting experience. A film is always enhanced by a good musical score or soundtrack..

MV5BMTAzNDcwODQ1MjJeQTJeQWpwZ15BbWU4MDY3NTAzMTAx._V1_SY317_CR2,0,214,317_ Spartacus is a master at this.  The original score for Spartacus was composed and conducted by Alex North. The film is produced by Kirk Douglas.

Originally, Howard Fast was hired to adapt his own novel as a screenplay, but he had difficulty working in the format. He was replaced by Dalton Trumbo, who had been blacklisted as one of the Hollywood Ten. Douglas insisted that Trumbo be given screen credit for his work, which helped to break the blacklist.

16 and I innocently walked home

Sweet sixteen not my theme: Reflections on a 1920s serial killer.

download (2)

Disillusionment started around this time in my life. 16!

What inspired me were the mysteries of life. The dark places of life. I kept it to myself. I was young and wordless, quiet and impressionable. Times were dull and I was asleep to the world around me.  I did not study or read much. I innocently walked home on my own from school. I had my close friends and life was easy. I had a boyfriend who watched over me. I thought he loved me. Well, he enjoyed my body.

Last night I watched a documentary on Carl Panzram. He is a serial killer. He wrote his memoir in prison and when I compare my life growing up to his, I become sick. He went to reform school and prison at a very young age. He was a cowboy-hobo. He did not live a glorious life. His was not an easy life. Mine was.

I am sure I went through the normal psychological changes of a youth becoming an adult. I was reasonably safe and made the transition through a few years, or a generation of the 50s through the 80s.

Carl Panzram was not so fortunate.  He grew up in a different generation during the Great Depression. Yet his youthful rebellion as a boy pushed him into being brutalized by a system that creates killers.

I am not justifying the unspeakable acts he did as an adult; I am comparing my life to his. Maybe to my own two boys who I protect like a mama bear hawk. Some sort of paranoid mythological female mother figure. They are very fortunate indeed!!

Serial killers, gangsters and the cruelty they inflict on society is terrible. I am not afraid to look at them. I wish I could change how this shadowy part of our human nature manifests in our society. Sometimes at night I find it hard to breathe when I think of how many people are locked up, especially our youth.

One cannot fight the shadow with more shadow because it only makes a bigger shadow.

If I could go back to being sixteen  I would inspire myself to wake up!  I would study and apply myself to life. I would learn, learn, learn !

I would take back my body and go to college at a young age. I would study criminology, psychology and get my degrees. I have my regrets and so did Carl Panzram!!

Our penal system is wrong. I would try to change it from the inside out starting with our youth!!

I know that Carl Panzram made the same analogy in his memoir. Carl had the remarkable ability to reflect. A friendly prison guard inspired him to write his memoir. This guard was a rare bird because he treated criminals as human beings. Carl’s revealing memoir is one to ponder; a remarkable confession from a very angry soul.

“I don’t believe in man, God nor Devil. I hate the whole damned human race, including myself. I preyed upon the weak, the harmless and the unsuspecting. This lesson I was taught by others : Might makes right.”
― Carl Panzram

Jim Trash Flipside 20 Circle Jerks Hallowen Issue

Huntington Beach Scene Report by Michele Flipside , Jim Trash, Flipside 20, Circle Jerks Halloween Issue

Big Fish Stories by The Crowd. Came on the scene around the early 90s I believe.

When The Crowd hit the California punk scene it was something special and all the punk chicks had their eyes on Jim Trash [Jim Decker]. He was not the usual Hollyweird kind of guy. He was a surfer punk; Young, tan and entertaining. The Infamous Gerber may have had her ways with him too; believe me he crossed my eyes a few times as well. It was a time before slamming when the pit was filled with the Pogo, dancing, and having fun ruled the scene.

This is the record, vinyl, LP being pulled from the dark closet today. It is a Flipside Record that is not included in the current Crowd Discography. So for those of you stimulated by the phenomenon of the erecting punk rock nostalgia you might find this LP climatic and even orgasmic.

Bobbing at the top of the waters of the LETHE. Review of Push the Sky Away ~Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds

“…And here I come to the hill

I’m pushing my own wheel of love

I got love in my tummy and a tiny little pain…”

I have not bought an album in  some time. We use to have an iTunes account. I don’t know if anyone notices the music posts that I use quite a lot from Nick Cave and The Bad Seed’s new album Push the Sky Away?  It is about time again when I reward my kids and myself with the instant gratification of music. I feel that I have been using so many YouTube songs for free that it is about time to pay the piper.

I don’t feel comfortable ripping others off or taking things for free if an artist worked hard to create something beautiful.

Push The Sky Away is beautiful to me. I am enchanted by this album: The lyrics, music and singing by Nick Cave are pulling at my belly; bringing forth feelings that I have lost in the real world. He has become my musical companion of the netherworld. He inspires my dry and jaded libido as the rain, wind and the sea does. He speaks from the deep unconscious of longing and love.

Nick Cave is a master of archetypal resurrection.

Son hot-burned some cds for our flying machine on the way to and from school. While driving home and listening to the full album, I felt as if I was hovering over the dark asphalt streets. As a jet takes-off; I felt that feeling as if riding on a swing where I almost took off to the rain clouds above.

Nick Cave is a man from my generation and from the same rebellion. As we engage in this collective aging I hear his wisdom!

I know where he is !

He is at the same magic place of life. Yes it is real magic! Nick’s music makes us slow down to listen and wonder. I cry with a wonderful longing that I have not felt in a long time.

“It gets you right down to your soul!”
