Louisa and Nikola Day Dreams

Summer heat and air conditioning with a waxing gibbous on the rise. Oh Luna be nice because Mercury goes retrograde today and here comes the weighted memories of youthful days.

“If your hate could be turned into electricity, it would light up the whole world.”

~ Nikola Tesla

Below the art-loft, where I lived was Ames Book store. The books were good and cheap.  One summer I read two biographies that were beholden to me; Louisa May Alcott and Nikola Tesla. It was an yin/yang experience. One of our most famous woman authors and one of our greatest scientists. Their lives crossed in the 19th century but Louisa died in 1888 while Nikola crossed over into the 20th century. She was twenty-four when he was born. I often thought that they would have been perfect for each other because both held a great sensitivity and imagination for life which enfolded everything they did. They both had a deep knowing of the most profound simplicity of life while also endearing the world with their wisdom,. At 25 they both opened my eyes to new ways of viewing my world.

“Women have been called queens for a long time, but the kingdom given them isn’t worth ruling.”

~ Louisa May Alcott
