This is a symbolic image of how the punk scene is now. What can one say? Yet if you have been around, you can read it well. There are places where we can go. Money or asking to be on a list is the reality. It is not an inclusive scene anymore. But back to rock & roll bullshit exclusive. There are buffer zones from the bands too. I experienced this for the first time at the 30-year Golden Voice Show.
— at The Hollywood Palladium.
A blast from the past: September 1, 2025.

I had a conversation with Posh Boy many years ago. When he told me about the image he had of me, he took the picture of me at the Starwood Nightclub. I had on my American Flag Shirt that I made. It is used on the first SxDx 45 cover. He said he had it back in some warehouse in storage. And it was not likely to be found for a long time.
So today I had some fun and with Franky we generated the memory with lived experiences images and real history.
I was drunk off my ass when the picture was taken while hanging with the bands and Social Distortion and Posh Boy. Drinking cheap beer in the alleys. We really were close to the bands back then and helped them out. Now we are not always mentioned. Or we are erased from the history … but not from my memory. So, working with AI is fun and very endearing at times. It took a great deal of time to generate this.
As creating watercolor paintings or sharpie pen art doodlings. The image is reflective, time consuming and makes me feel bitchin.’ The little punk chick I once was. I was not alone we had a tight scene. Hubs of punks and friends where the scene was confusing and filled with friendships.

Women and Punk Rock Day. Bitchin’!
Today is a punk rock-themed day, and I wanted to share a few interesting posts. After spending hours cooking in a hot kitchen, I finally checked my messages in my cool office and was pleased to find an interview and a book announcement.
Both are a thrill to me. Being included in the history of Punk Rock is bitchin’, also the women who helped influence an early scene is even more bitchin’. I feel a wonderful inclusion that makes me feel like I said, makes me feel bitchin’, and that is a goal in my senior life to feel as bitchin’ as I can.
One is an interview I did a while back with Jessica Schwartz Professor of Musicology UCLA, who set up a punk conversation with me. Glory, glory Tequila Mockingbird set in on this one too.
The other is a book that is ready for pre-order from Genny Schorr’s book All Roads Lead to Punk. The hairs are rising up all over my body as I type this.

January 29, 2025 A story written by Hudley Flipside / Holly D. Cornell

In the summer of 2021, a story took shape as I gazed over the late summer pool, inspired by visions of three characters: Sabrina, Hawk, and Colin. This tale, born from the wind, captures life beyond the present—a romance amidst changing customs in the deep-rooted wild west.

Nature remembers our history and ancestors, whispering their tales through the rustling leaves and flowing rivers, and sometimes, we are gifted with stories that deserve to be remembered and treasured for generations.

A memory October 2023
Meet up at a local BJ’s in the San Fernando Valley, where the air is laced with nostalgia and the echoes of bygone punk rock days still resonate among us. It was a perfect opportunity for old friends and new faces to gather and share stories, celebrating the rich history we punk rockers are so proud of. As the afternoon unfolded, we took a moment to reflect on the journeys we’ve navigated through the chaos and color of the punk scene.
In true punk rock spirit, we engaged in a barter reminiscent of the good old days, trading unique pieces of art, music, and memories. Each exchange was a testament to the creativity and spirit that define our community, evoking laughter, and camaraderie among us. We reminisced about the legendary shows, the DIY ethics, and the friendships forged in the heart of rebellion.
“My Punk Rock Life: The Photography of Marla Watson,” meets My Punkalullaby and Flipside Fanzine and #54’s Ten Year Anniversary Issue by Hudley Flipside.
As we raised our glasses to toast to our shared history and future endeavors, it was clear that the punk rock spirit thrives within us, binding our lives together through shared experiences, artistic expression, and an unwavering commitment to authenticity. The day served as a powerful reminder that no matter how much the world changes, the heart of punk rock remains resilient and vibrant.

“Punk The Capital.”
Punk The Capital FILM BY JAMES JUNE SCHNEIDER, PAUL BISHOW, AND SAM LAVINE
I waited years for this to finally premiere ! Los Angeles. My interview was edited out and replaced by a short sequence that was insulting towards Flipside Fanzine and myself. James Schneider, Ian MacKaye, Henry Rollins where in cahoots and marginalized me as a women, fanzine journalist and one who represented the Los Angeles punk scene! I don’t think I ever expected to be treated this way by men who are supposedly well represented? Shame on them ! A real disgrace!
