2025 November The Saints still trembling.

I am a wolf of the steppes, wandering

in search of meaning through the dark forests of

life.

~ Hermann Hesse

Los Angeles city is now dark.

In the middle of the lit street a group of guys beat up another guy!!

Their feet kicking him repeatedly.

Sick sounds of violence.

Violence on the fetal shaped body of a young man.

Then poof they were gone. Racing off in their cars.

Close to 6 PM mothers pushed their strollers by us down the same dirty street.

Babe covered with cloth.

Silent bikes move along unheard. On the same sidewalk.

“Watch out!”

I could not find a cup of coffee here.

Only a Smash burger, onion rings, and diet Doctor Pepper.

We were the first in line, so we decided to get food, yet the line picked up when we returned!

Right before the security started to set up their tools housing the line.

I felt a slight breeze from the closed entrance.

The coolness came with an echoing sound!

l was familiar with this sound. Not a radio or music over the PA.

Thinking to myself,

“Oh, dear heart that is The Saints.

Their Soundcheck!”

Leaning passionately against the door entrance with my ear to the crack. I found myself singing,

“Orstralia.”

“We got no problems, got no wars.

And you don’t need your brain no more

No, sir.”

I looked up to see another fan waiting silently. He was smiling. Ya we knew those words by heart!

Not a tear but only now as I write this.

My first moment with the band which enveloped me.

That drumbeat, that guitar.

Enough to sustain me for years to come.

Joy unbound pure joy!
