How do you balance work and home life?

I balance work and home life

As a normality of being,

As bees

Who collect nectar

Or as opossum scans

For food from our hardy green lawn.

I write essays while cleaning dishes

Or edit my documentary

Between petting kitties,

At home and in the world.

I teach from within my soul

And create art

In my office,

Where outside shines

A praying mantis tree

With purple anarchy flowers!
