“5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.”
United States of America, as “a filthy little atheist !!!
“That “solution” is what Jung calls,”the third,” arrived at through the passion of crucifixion and resurrection… Christ is the fat lady in the front seat.”
~ Pg. 65 Magicians, Tricksters and Clowns. The ravaged Bridegroom, masculinity in Women by Marion Woodman
As a religious studies major, I enjoy reflecting on how politicians use religious text to manipulate. They are many issues being put on our tables. Our rights and freedoms. This is what I think.
As it is a woman’s autonomy which is private between her, and her doctor so too is one’s faith between a person and their God. Or no God or Goddess at all.
One’s faith needs to be separate from public schools, state, and federal government. To be taught at church or at home instead. As all religions and those who do not believe in God. A parent’s responsibility is sacred to a child and their family.
Just like cell phones and logarithms that the government wants to control. Isn’t it up to parents to see what their children are viewing? Take the phones away and do your excellent work.
If these conservative people want the Ten Commandments in their schools, they should also be responsible for the commandments. They need to live by them.
They follow a cult leader, fascist, hypocrite who does not honor the Ten Commandments or the new commandments from Jesus known as The Beatitudes.
Donald Trump is a felon, he has committed adultery more than once, he often bears false witness against his neighbors too. Trump and his conservative followers and politicians are not meek of heart.
Are they peacemakers? No, they all only seem to amplify what Thomas Paine said so clearly as a loud pinning tuning fork… no it is only for this that religion was “set up to terrify and enslave” and to “monopolize power and profit.”
The basis of fascism is built on the roots of dogmatic fundamental religion when government and religion are not separate. They join together to terrify and enslave.
Did all these extreme conservatives forget the greatest commandment from their Christian leader?
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
Love your neighbor as yourself.
There is no commandment greater than these.”

William Blake – Moses Receiving the Law

Louisiana public schools are now required to display the Ten Commandments in all classrooms, after Republican Gov. Jeff Landry signed the requirement into law Wednesday.
“If you want to respect the rule of law, you gotta start from the original law given which was Moses. … He got his commandments from God,” Landry said.
The biblical narrative of the revelation at Sinai in Exodus 19 describes the arrival of the children of Israel at Mount Sinai, and the dramatic events that followed, including thunders, lightnings, and the voice of the trumpet. After the Lord came down upon Mount Sinai, Moses went up briefly and returned to prepare the people.
The 10 Commandments
In Exodus 20, God spoke the words of the covenant, the “ten commandments,” to all the people.

The Beatitudes
The Beatitudes were recorded on Human Hearts, focusing on internal attitudes, while the Ten Commandments were recorded on Tablets of Stone, focusing on external actions. The Beatitudes stress what to be, while the Ten Commandments warn of what not to do.

William Blake, Christ Appearing to the Apostles After the Resurrection (1795)
Jesus said:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Thomas Paine

Thomas Paine wrote that organized religion was “set up to terrify and enslave” and to “monopolize power and profit.” Paine repudiated the divine origin of Christianity on the grounds that it was too “absurd for belief, too impossible to convince and too inconsistent to practice.”
He was vilified for his unabashed analysis of the bible when he returned to America in 1802. Even a century after his death, Theodore Roosevelt referred to Paine, the man who named the United States of America, as “a filthy little atheist,” ignoring the fact that Paine wrote in The Age of Reason,
“I believe in one God, and no more; and I hope for happiness beyond this life.” In Rights of Man (1791) he wrote,
“My country is the world, and my religion is to do good.”
BARTLEBY: Here’s what I don’t get about you: you know for a fact that there is a God. You’ve been in his presence, He’s talked to you personally. And yet I just heard you claim to be an atheist.
LOKI: I just like to fuck with the clergy, man– keep ’em on their toes.
