During the hot, dripping, mucky, cenobite summer mama cooks in her cave. Here we have sqauw rolls covered with a secret tomatoes sauce, marinated tomatoes & red onions… covered with copper kettle parmesan cheese… with a little jazz, life seems cooler. Pop these babes in the oven until the rolls are toasty and the cheese melts… and happy animals all around!!
I think I have found I am in the process of vegetarianism speaking to me again but contradiction howls as Coyote says,
“Keep it cool baby…keep it cool!”
She is chewing on hallowed out bones…ohhhh. She tells me her stories; the whisperings of tricks, humor, love and barbecue ribs. I give her a sly glance. I just don’t know if I want to take her too seriously. I have been fooled before.
Bernie Wrightson Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley’s Frankenstein Unused Illustration Original Art (c. 1975), ca. 1975
We lived in a little art loft over a quaint book store up town Whittier. Ames is the name of the bookstore. A funny fellow with a beard owned the place. To get away from the overwhelming nature of the business I was involved with: I found this cave in the city. A new world opened up to me at Ames. Books came alive and one of the most influential books I found there is the classic story; Frankenstein Or, The Modern Prometheus. Mary W. Shelley’s novel inspires me on so many levels and I cannot thank her enough.
This is a quote for the day. This quote speaks of life and freedom resonates there. I love the reflective and subjective nature of her book. I recommend this gem to everyone: read it and life will not be the same…if you have read it already, “so it goes!”
If our impulses were confined to hunger, thirst, and desire, we might be nearly free; but now we are moved by every wind that blows, and a chance word or scene that word may convey to us.

Welcome to The Seminary Of Praying Mantis.
Praying mantis shows me her story of life, death, and rebirth. For me she is an image or symbol of the divine in all things. I watch the praying mantis in my garden and have taken her image as my logo. She is an amazing little creature, and I relate to her connection to nature. We are both wild and part of this strange world. She is a part of my mythology as I am part of hers.
