My Hands Only

The key I wish for is for the door that awaits me…what awaits me is my own art loft. In it is a remarkable place of supplies.

Tables of wood and windows that slant where the sun comes in just right. Or the moon at night as I listen on the stereo with giant speakers. Paper, pencils and stencil paper. Small printing press and paper-cutter.

Clamps, needles, and string alongside

watercolors and computers create

a setting near a stream, in a small town,

where everything remains undisturbed,

representing order in disorder.

Muses are you listening?

  1. Some people dread turning 50 as they perceive that they are getting old and it is down hill right after 50. What I have learned from others is that; life 50 and beyond are the best years of your lives as long as your are healthy.

The first 50 years were spent caring for everyone else. Now it is your time to care for you. For those who have kids, you might have finished caring for your children and now it is your chance to enjoy the grand children.

What are you worried about? Some people didn’t even made it to 50. Now is your time Follow your dreams, follow your passions, do the thing that you always wanted to do and weren’t able to do it because of responsibilities. Live life in the now and congrats, you made it to 50.

    1. Yes… 56 is my age. Yes it is time for me. I am glad you commented on this post. It is OK getting older… The Holidays give me the blues and I find that writing and art balance it out. Getting older is not easy. I find there is much more time for reflection and standing up for oneself instead of always going along with dysfunctional flow…

  2. just the same thing i’ve been dreaming of. and it will be the one place the cats aren’t allowed because they like to eat art!
