The Notion

“Now the people from all times have been aware of the movements of the planets, in particular the sun and moon, but now they relate these movements to a mathematical system. I think this is probably the most important transformation of the notion of the universe in the history of human consciousness.” ~ pg 72 Goddesses, Mysteries of the Feminine Divine by Joseph Campbell

It is a given that the Planets have a way that is unique on to them and if you follow their stories, or not, that it ok by me. I can’t help but listen to their stories and their “angle of the dangle,” because it is kind of hard not to notice their patterns! Since the beginning of civilization there is a vast amount of studies about the planets.  It is quite amazing to me that so much knowledge and wisdom is associated with the planets. I am not an expert on the subject, but I am an ‘intuitive’!  I understand nature. I understand that the planets play a part in the big picture.

It is a civilization “individuation process” on a big scale. Yet, as subtle as a butterfly in one’s backyard, or the understanding of sorrowful feelings of a child when they first learn that bullies suck! The same but different is the key to understanding their stories. This is humanities’ story too.

Today I focus on all this hullabaloo over Saturn square Neptune.

I have found a perfect song for Neptune and another for Saturn, that expresses my inward feelings about these two character building planets. It is the blending in me that I enjoy. Sometimes I stress over the shadows that Neptune and Saturn manifest in their creative dark stories.  Yet, I say hello Saturn and Hello Neptune.  And so their story continues….and so too is humanity here to acknowledge their existence. We listen to their patterns, mathematical system and stories.

To Neptune

To Saturn..

‘De trop’, no way !!

KAREN: I guess at this point I am what the French call ‘de trop?’

BILL (smiles) Maybe just a little around the edges.

Either you repeat the same conventional doctrines everybody is saying, or else you say something true, and it will sound like it is from Neptune. ~ Noam Chomsky

The sciences are a good thing. Rover on Mars looking back at the Earth is amazing. Yet reading Dante Alighieri’s biography I find that he studied liberal arts courses,

“Which offered Latin, geometry, arithmetic, astronomy (actually astrology) and music was to be passionately attached all his life.” Pg. 11

During the Middle Ages science, art and music were not separate as they are today. With astrology, the planets affect us. Now I wonder how our Earth affects those on Mars or the other planets in our solar system?

My point being is that science is a very bare bones reality where all its theories are well supported, at least enough to go to other planets via technology.

I feel what makes Dante so special to me is that he is the perfect person who, at one time, brought together science, art, and music.  He is the perfected human being who shows us that having a soul is part of the human equation of being, and with an honest spirit humanity inspires to know all the stratosphere of human nature.

We are accountable for ourselves in a divine way. A highly creative solution to the problem of humanity!!! Humor included as Mr. Dante is no fool on this matter!!

Oldest son is just starting a physics course today at the local university. We often debate what is real and what is illusion, as two Gemini our Mercury fires up with heated dialogue.

And then there is Neptune. I love Neptune, the color and mystery of its round luminosity. I hear this week Mercury goes retrograde right into the belly of Neptune, astrologically speaking of course.

The week ahead is a time to feel. As Luna waxes strong into Valentine’s Day, it is a time of a kind of inner pregnancy of feelings; it may be a delightful time if we do not anally analyze too much.

I have decided to do the tango with Mercury, Luna, and Neptune this week…a threesome may be fun!! I will go with the flow, dance sweet and low and get it on the go.

Until next time … fin

a terrible threat

th (13)

Being weird is always a terrible threat! A wonderful and eternal weirdo place~way to be!! RIP Lou Reed!!

“For indiscriminate empathy which is characteristic of Neptune, we often try to make this into a very exclusive and discriminating empathy for him alone. We can see the same kind of mechanism at work here that is suggested by a Uranus-Saturn contact. Even if the individual is not expressing Neptune in a particularly conscious way–and few do expect through the creative media of music or theater–this lucid and magical quality will be apparent to the person whose Saturn is affected. It is entrancing quality at the same time that it is a terrible threat for although Neptune seems to say, I completely understand and love and accept you,, he will say the same to everyone indiscriminately.” ~ Liz Greene

When I  was 14 years old the song Walk on the Wild Side was the hit song of a generation. The song reached mass appeal. I was not aware of The Velvet Underground or Andy Warhol during the 60s but by 1972 Lou Reed reached the place of “creative media of music,” where he would say “the same to everyone.”  I hated this song because the song began with my name. The kids at school already labelled me as a weirdo.

“Hey Holly want to take a walk on the wild side…hahahah!!”

Quiet and shy I took the bullying. Little did I know that in a few years I would be walking into a similar underground music scene that Lou Reed climbed out of; a creative flowing rebellious world of freedom, music, art, dark streets and clubs! I would be promoting a world of youthful Rock & Roll that, sometimes, does not age; only personally when we die at an age past 40 something!!

When I hear Walk on the Wild Side I smile now, because I did take a walk on the wild side. Being weird is always a terrible threat! A wonderful and eternal weirdo place~way to be!!

Death on the wild side…
Walk on the Wild Side” is a Lou Reed song from his 1972 second solo album Transformer. It was produced by David Bowie. The song received wide radio coverage, despite its touching on taboo topics such as transsexualitydrugsmale prostitution and oral sex. In the United States, RCA released the single using an edited version of the song without the reference to oral sex.
