Dad’s Passing Saint Patrick’s Day 2013.

My siblings and I headed down to the local Pickwick Irish pub for a great traditional meal of corned beef and cabbage. We drank until the well was closed to us. Then we all went home. I think dad would have appreciated this. He told me that often at funerals people always talk so ceremoniously about the deceased.

They usually always would lie about how great a person was instead of how they really were, the real stories about how they really really were. So, this day at the pub was how my dad would have celebrated or grieved a dead friend or family member, by getting fucking drunk with his friends. As we sure Do-Wah Diddy did.

A bittersweet time.

The year 1942 Greer Garson was thirty-one when she hit it as an actress, a very mature time for a woman to make it big. I enjoy watching her films. I enjoy her strength, femininity, and intuitive strategic nature. Watching Classic films is so comforting. The films are the same year after year but somehow change with time. It is a matter of perspective; a film viewed at 5 is understood differently at 55. It is a magic movie and in times of grief and sorrow films bring comfort and friendship.

Today is such a day where the line –up of films accentuates the durability of eternal grief, the motifs and archetypes of life and films.

A long night of seeming madness and then with a couple of button pushes the classic films begin late in the morning and without even eyeglasses or coffee. Three Coins in the Fountain, Notorious and Dial M for Murder will embrace me today. Now an awake child of the cosmos I find my eyeglasses, coffee and make cabbage salad with bacon, red peppers, avocado, jalapeño, and dill-rye bread.Dial M for Murder will embrace me today. Two songs, my dad and death. He died on Saint Patrick’s Day.

It was a week ago today that he passed. A nurse from hospice, three siblings, and myself attended as classical music played in the background. Intense and with a call to my heart. I asked my brother to change the CD,

“Put on that CD you got for Dad a few years back for his birthday or was it Christmas!?”

It was the best of Frank Sinatra. We watched Dad move into the eternal and listened with a pleasant release and sad joy. In a moment of time between the song The Young at Heart and Three Coins in a Fountain, dad left us. I imagined him dancing away with the spirit of our deceased mother or maybe Greer Garson.

In her youth mother looked similar to Greer Garson.

Built by the Knights Templar?

It is always interesting when a symbolic painting painted from years ago comes forward to reveal itself. I remember what the Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung said,

“…that when creating art from an unconscious or spiritual place one should share it with others or the public…”

Yet, I do because as Jung points out, when one does it can touch someone else and affect a chain of events that have meaning.

Last night while watching the History 2 channel. I came upon a TV series. In general, it is about an unearthed structure that may have been built during the medieval period on American soil. It is a remarkably interesting topic for me. As I watched the program a special moment happened. I call them synchronistic moments. This structure seemed familiar to me.

As many ancient buildings, it is in tune with the four directions and with the sun, moon, and stars in the night sky. The Knights Templar focus was on the divine feminine and for them it was the star Venus and also the symbol of the egg.

On this particular structure on American soil there is an egg shape stone that lights up at a certain time by the sun. This holds great meaning symbolically when understanding the Goddess.

As I was watching this program I looked at the clock below the TV screen and noticed the time was 11:11.

Numerologists believe that events linked to the time 11:11 appear more often than can be explained by chance or coincidence. This belief being based on the concept of synchronicity. Some authors claim that seeing 11:11 on a clock is an auspicious sign. Others claim that 11:11 signals a spirit presence.

Knowing this I had to listen to what I was watching with more intent. Then the image of a watercolor painting I did years ago came to my mind. At the time when I created the painting it was based on my inspiration. I was working with the American Indian Medicine wheel that is based on the four directions: North, East, South and West.

I also placed a triangle shape over the threshold of the building of my watercolor. The building I imagined was also built of stone like the structure in the history channel.

At the time I created this simple watercolor I was thinking of it as a holy place that I would like to build on a large piece of land in a natural setting.

I am now content to share this story. To think about it and this new experience of what it is saying to me now. What is it saying to you the reader?

So be it, I shared my story Mr. Jung!!

worth in this life

thCA2LFR88

s a 55-year-old woman who is in a cocoon stage of menopause, I am pulling away from the words and ways of regret. In my 30s I held on to the ‘shoulda woulda couldas,” these regrets once raced around in my mind; they went racing around in my mind and they took all energy from my life. As I melt here and reflect on life, I realize I am at a good chrysalis state of acceptance. I know my mind and heart. I know I can focus my mind on what I want to without peer pressure directing me. I know that my heart has a mind of its own and I let it do what it wants, this is creative inspiration. I write my stories, poems and angry editorials. I share my history and life. I have family, friends and mystery muses (who may not ever know who they are)! I am waiting, listening and focused. I do not hear an echo or sense a haunting of “shoulda woulda couldas” anymore. My ambition is null but like the purple flower from the novel, The Color Purple, I like to be noticed for my worth in this life.

“Shug: I think it pisses God off when you walk by the color purple in a field and don’t notice it.”

For me it is walking by a praying mantis and not noticing her. That must piss-off nature something awful!!

LOVE BIRDS: Mae West and George Raft

1932_Mae_Geo_Raft

It is not by chance that I posted a picture of Mae West and a few days later a short essay about George Raft. I did not know the connection between them then, but after some research and reading his biography I came to realize the relationship they had with each other. This is how synchronicity works and for them it is also about a deep love.

1932_NaN_Raft_MW_embrace_T

May West is overwhelming sexy. She is a classic vexing iconic blonde bombshell. George Raft is the sharp gangster. He is a tough guy with a chaos deep voice, so unique and enduring he defines a generation of look and style. For us they go on doing this with endless images, films and books. The thought of them together as lovers and friends is the enhancement of romance. As a sensitive person I feel this is the story that I am procuring about them.

1932_Mae_Maudie_cig_bw

They both died within days from each other; ending up lying in the same morgue alongside each other. This was not planned by them. It could be just by chance that these two iconic film stars came to lie together like this. I can say from a physical perspective it may be true, but for me chance has no say in this; I know that there is no such thing. Their story and death has meaning to me and says something beautiful about the two of them.

1926_G_Raft

I am reflecting upon a film that is about another great love story. It dreamily reveals my intuitive insight about Mae and George’s love story.  It is the film The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. It is about a ghost and living woman who fall in love. It is a humorous and titillating story. The actors are not Mae West and George Raft but what happens at the end of the story is my focus. Mrs. Muir lives her life and at the very end of the film we find her siting in a rocking chair. This is where she dies. In this scene we see the young Captain, the ghost, walk up to her and reach for her hand. He pulls her up. She is now also a ghost. The two of them, youthful and beautiful, are together once more and so a new journey begins when they walk away together.

I envision this same scenario for Mae and George. As I look down I see the old age, sickness and death of Mae and George, but as I look up I see two lovers gazing down then up into each others eyes. They are youthful, beautiful and together again moving onward and beyond. This is what I see in the best desires of my imagination for them.

To look at old age and death as a sad and lonely time is to miss the point of life. Waiting is sometimes the price that true love pays. As we grow older the mind naturally goes inward. Reflections and images become stronger. Mae and George live on in our memories and I would not be surprised, but delighted, if more synchronicity mysteries come forth for me about these love birds. It really is a wonderful thing for me to see.  This type of information is not so much linear; But comes in a roundabout imperfect way and it grows as leaves on a tree, or slowly collects as dew on a petal.

This is the lesson they’ve taught me…this is the meaning of this synchronicity about their love.

I have not forgotten about you

this small watercolor

is on the wall of the back bathroom

I see it everyday

and my heart thinks of you

and your esoteric lessons

Your legend and mystery

about the green earth

and the golden heavens…

The cross, roses and healing cycles.

They are mythologies and astronomy now

the real phases of the moon

feminine, real and physical.

Can you read my effluvia?

On this oracle

a new place of communications.

Yes the image of the pearl and her image

come to mind and are melted in by bones

as the essence of life reformed

and recycled again and again

the pearl and bones remain

as chips and fragments

floating in the blue-green sea

of  the tides that breath

as the moon circles around her body.

Ember, the continuity of an image

This got me thinking about the continuity of an image. An image can fly around through many cultures and not really be understood, even though it sometimes carries great meaning, wisdom and insight.

As an older woman I find nothing in my current culture to affirm what I am going through, which is menopause. I look at the celebrities and they all practice yoga and get plastic surgery. Most of them all look the same. When I look at ancient or archaic cultures, I see women statues of big bosoms and round behinds. Some are smiling like Sheela-na-gig while holding their vulva’s open for all to see. I get confused.

I cannot talk to my mom because she is dead. My sister raced through menopause due to chemotherapy, so she does not really have to play the waiting game; something a woman goes through, wondering, what in the hell is going on?

(I must say in retrospection that both my mom and sister had their own suffering and were waiting to attend to with what they went through. It is different. I don’t know if either of them wondered about menopause like I do now?) All my grandmothers are pretty much dead or beyond reproach. I do not have a real tradition passed down to me. No old women sitting around the campfire telling me their wisdom women stories. So, I went looking.

My education is rich, and I have studied many cultures. Mostly it is the great erect patriarchs, histories, and mythologies, which are floating around in my brain. Occasionally a matriarch pushes a couple of men out-of-the-way like Cleopatra or Inanna the Sumerians Goddess; but this is rare. The Thirteen Grandmothers of the ancient Native American culture are extremely helpful, yet not really something that has overwhelmingly screamed to my ovaries.

I have found that it is a bird that has come to initiate me into my lost women mysteries. The owl has been with me all of my life, even when I was growing up on a wild hill in Woodland Hills. I remember hearing the hooting of the owl at night. I recall seeing a white owl in my twenties in Whittier while taking a walk on Easter day.

I remember the two owls perched on a tree at the medicine wheel gathering in Santa Rosa. The medicine man told me not to look at them.

“I would not look up at them very long, they are very powerful beings.”

Their eyes were like molten lava. Their image burned in my brain.

At home I have a plastic owl on the tallest metal racks in the kitchen. The kind of owl you see in gardens or on tall buildings to keep the others birds from pooping on someone’s property. The owl is looking outside. At night I can see it’s reflection on the widow looking inside at me.

I have been studying the Eleusinian mysteries for many years trying to understand them.  Yes, this mythology is a good one. The archaeology is fab and it is as old and ancient as women. It isn’t telling its real mysteries to a patriarchal culture. I am only finding out now that the owl does have a story to tell by these  mysteries.

I have learned that in part of the Eleusinian mysteries women would wear large coins on their heads. They would tie them on their heads and drink fermented drinks as part of the initiation. The image on some of these coins is the owl. I studied this ancient image and then I rendered this image on paper with my own hand.

This got me thinking about the continuity of an image. An image can fly around through many cultures and not really be understood, even though it sometimes carries great meaning, wisdom, and insight.

Who first saw this owl? They saw it, drew it from their imagination, and then a coin was created by casting the metal into a mold. This is the process of seeing, imagining, and creating.

Is it by chance that this image has flown from antiquity onto my wrists as tattoos?

Is there a place where the old women still meet around an ancient fire?

Is the continuity of an image as an owl, the ancient symbol of female initiation, my participation in this waiting game known as menopause? Is an ember of the fire still warm and are the ancient women telling me now their stories …if I take the time to listen? Or am I only melting into goo on the floor, that will soon petrify and with time fly away into dust?

Libertia: A Tear For Lonely Persephone; Happy Spring Equinox.

I wrote this poem on 8/8/88. The mythology and symbolism define a change, a pull that moved me onto another path. In that moment, I felt the weight of transformation bearing down on me, a force urging me to embrace the unknown.

From music and wild ways to a new life. It did happen. Those wild days filled with spontaneous adventures and unbridled creativity laid the foundation for where I stand today. The rhythm of life shifted, bringing forth a desire for something deeper, something more meaningful. Through the chaos, I discovered clarity.

Now when I look back, I am amazed at the internal movement this poem captures. The words echo the sentiments of my journey, embodying the struggles and triumphs that accompanied my growth. Today, it holds immense value, reflecting a pivotal chapter in my existence, and this is why I am sharing it. It serves as a reminder of the paths we traverse and the resilience we cultivate as we evolve.

Athena holds me to her bosom, dear, a sullen tear, I reply in fear.

Alas her Owl comes from the west! Calling me to take me from my nest!

Stir me up, shake me, I stand naked, as nothing.

And her tear drops, I saw it, to the book here, I am reading.

Alas she cries for all imprisoned women! Pregnant and within her presence.

Now, I want to die, where could I go?

Death would not hide me from her! Inspire me, Aphrodite with love tonight.

I love her, in myself be true! Please say it is alright, lie with me this night.

My tent is up, my lantern lit, all upon a hill.

I have my medicine staff, as snake crawls up, my mythology dream stick self.

In all my dreams, I never knew, A woman would bear-up my child.

Yes, that tear that fell, will be my watering growth.

The Owl, my wings, shall fly the west, the east, the south and north.

The snake on staff will crawl up, coiled then straight and fire blown.

Athena and Aphrodite the two stars, Together, moon beam shine upon me.

This time I will not shy away, this time I bring you birth, I know you know,

“Mine Krater” be filled this night.

And Persephone smiles in the morning East saying,

“Ah look, there flies the Eagle!”

An Image of Mother’s Passing

If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, you may as well make it dance.

– G.B. Shaw

My brother called to tell me mom passed. There were few tears to shed.

A year before I shed my tears knowing that this day would come soon enough.

Giving birth and waiting for death are so much alike in their ways.

One waits and endures through the pain while caught in the eternity of this waiting. It passes. Human beings are born and then they die.

The funeral director was called by phone to come and receive my mother’s body in death. They arrived quickly. A gurney was brought into the house.

The man asked if my father and I would like to join my brother downstairs.

“Many family members find it hard to witness their loved-one’s bodies being placed on a gurney.”

My father and I stayed. I watched as the mortician picked my mother up as a bride over the threshold. Her body hung down lifeless.

A vivid image of Christ on the cross came to mind. Then she was placed on the purest white sheet I ever saw. Then they wrapped it round her.

She was the center of a beautiful white Lilly.

My father bent over and kissed her, I followed and kissed her, and he followed again. Then she was gone.

Golden Shrill Sistrum

“Many things were among her accouterments, in her right hand she held a brazen sistrum, a flat piece curved like a girdle, through which there passed some little rods – and when with her arm she vibrated these triple chords they produced a shrill sharp cry”

Letting orthodox belief systems go,

rooting in the emerald-green nether lands,

Grey crooked trees and black Raven,

Whirling rouge invisible wind blowing,

dirty golden roses on the ground,

Breathing in I count to ten,

Total darkness,

Only the red lines of blood vessels,

moving snapshots of light,

I breath out,

Slowly the dark wooden boat sails on the indigo sea,

The white sail slowly flapping in the salty breeze,

He sits there with his dark skin and darker beard,

Wearing a white kaftan and tight braided cord made of black donkey hair,

He leaned toward the woman dressed in orange,

Wearing the headdress of Hathor,

Then she raised her arms up in the shape of a cup and sang,

“I am eternity,”

Her voice echoed and shimmered golden rays around us,

My heart-felt this and the purple vibrations of laughter.

I opened my eyes to the colors of my backyard.

“Exuberance is Beauty”

William Blake

I can only gaze at the images of Blake’s work in a book, or on the internet … (maybe at times in a museum) and that will have to do.

I have been pulled into William Blake again. This means trouble because he takes me to strange places of my imagination… like no one else can. The game is light and shadow play, and it is real life. I am reading The Marriage of Heaven and Hell edited with introduction and commentary by Michael Phillips. It is good to have his writing placed in the context of history. Analyzing the why, how and who is important in understanding Blake’s work, but for me the real place is always the inward place of the imagination. We all have this place and all we must do is to use it.

This, for me, is the best place to start with understanding Blake’s work. He does get unbelievably detailed though and sometimes it does take a lot of study time to reveal his meaning.

I like this book of Blake’s because there are only a few editions of this work in the world. He did all the work himself. He is an originator of free speech with a fanzine of his own. Including his opinions of current events, his spirituality and esoteric perspective. He mixes it all up in a wild whirlwind of images and does not exclude nature. Heartfelt satire, humor and word play also splash the pages with words that are even misspelled. Re-created words run through his work.

Maybe this was since his hand wrote out each letter of this book. Who knows?

I find it refreshing and I think back on my days as an editor and publisher of an underground fanzine. To print it and get it out was a fast movement in documenting a growing scene. To me the message was more important than the grammar or spelling and the parallelism I draw from Blake’s work; as he is my mentor and teacher, and what we achieved on each issue is similar. He helps me, in a sense; feel relieved from criticism that I have received. That either consciously or unconsciously he is making a statement; He shows cleverly his intentions as in the statement from the Book The Marriage of Heaven and Hell:

Yes, the words “Improvent” and “Improvement” are the same words with the same meaning. Smart, what do you think? Something to ponder. This is what Blake does best he gets us to ponder, think and imagine.

I can only gaze at the images of Blake’s work in a book, or on the internet now… and that will have to do.

This next quote I have chosen is very current and insightful for our times. He also uses something I call “Nature Politics” in his work.

A layperson’s notes on the study of William Blake ends here but will continue in the future.

Autumnis Mantis

Outside of our French windows is a trellis over the patio. Across from this we have a pool fence. We put it up when the children were small for their protection. It is now a place for Praying Mantis. When the spring comes and the baby mantis break their egg sack, hundreds of babies run along the claw proof dark plastic mesh.

The first days of autumn brings me a great visitor; a big mama mantis on the pool fence. This is very odd in the middle of the day with the sun overhead. We watched her wobble about. Her back-end is quite large. She stirred her body many times as she moved using her long legs to balance her weight. I then decided to move her.

I usually do not interfere with nature. She is big and it took five months for her to get this size. I am sure she can take care of herself…but I love her so, and did not want to see her devoured by a cat. Some would see this as equal punishment for the many creatures she sucked the life force from. I do not judge nature.

I put my hand and arm out to her. She looked round at me with her large yellow-green eyes. The end of her spider legs reached out grasping the hair on my arm like cactus hair, pulling her towards me. She was aboard me.

Quickly she ran to my right shoulder than the left shoulder. Then she was on my head. I felt her weight on my neck, and she tickled me. I laughed aloud. Walking slowly towards the trellis I rest my head on the vines and flowers. It did not take long for her to skip jumping up to a branch. Now, she was almost camouflaged from my gazing green eyes. Later in the day she was gone from this spot. In my heart I knew she was nearby.

Autumn…politics and music: Sweet peace is within my breast !

I sometimes think there are two Wagner’s in our culture, almost unrecognizable different from one another: the Wagner possessed by those who know his work, and the Wagner imagined by those who know him only by name and reputation.

~ Bryan Magee, Wagner Scolar

I am celebrating Autumn. I usually do this by listening to Tannhauser. I focus in on The Pilgrims Chorus in this opera. The music feels like autumn to me and contains within it the movements of this time of year.

In this particular piece of music I am slowly brought to a powerful center of my relationship with autumn. I am taken there by the crescendo which is a motif and  part of this music. It pulls me to a magical place.

I learned this chorus years ago by the occultist Corinne Heline. Her book, Color and Music in The New Age, first copyright 1964 by New Age Press , INC., is an interesting and mind altering perspective on esoteric Christianity, music composers and nature. Corinne Heline’s agenda is very clear.

I feel one can apply or superimpose what is in her book on any belief system.

When I speak of agenda I also refer to the music composed by Richard Wagner and how this song echos as a Nazi patriotic song that Hitler loved. Well thank goddess he was a human being.

I do not see it that way. Just because a person associates themselves with a particular opera or song does not mean that the same sentiment is carried on by another person.

I denounce Hitler and Nazism.

My focus is on my concept of nature politics and music. This is a continuity of dependable currents that tell us of a seasonal change within the world around us and within us, and it is happening now !

Atheism, Secularism, Christianity, all religions or belief systems in general, art, and the sciences can benefit by this music for the good of humanity and nature and beyond. This is my agenda.

I ask that you enjoy this music as an individual and hopefully it will inspire you to feel the current and spiritual nature of autumn.

Fusillade no more !

A donkey with a load of holy books is still a donkey.

In eastern Libya an U.S. ambassador is dead.  The political machine is turning on this one and some have unsuccessfully used it to their disadvantage. This beautiful land of Africa on the Mediterranean Sea holds a deeply conservative Muslim nation. Ak-47s, Islamist militant armies, Ambassador Stevens and a film  “Innocence of Muslims”, all speak of hate and death. Then there is Morris Sadek Egyptian Christian Activist and Coptic man who embodies his war against the God of Islam. Joining his battle is Pastor Terry Jones a conservative Christian of Florida  who promotes this hate on September 11th by showing this film.  While the best of the best, Sufi Muslim Shrines,  are destroyed by religious extremists. The Majority of people who live in Libya are not hateful.  We need to remember this.

This beautiful fertile crescent is a historical place of war shed for extreme generations of time.  It is a love hate religious war. I wish we could gather up all of these extremists and put them on an island at sea and just let them kill each other off. The extremist Muslim, Christian and Jew seem to hate all the time. Truly my deepest wish is that they would just sit down and talk and learn to live together without all this childlike emotional hatred.
These religious traditions all are Abrahamic religions that come from the same seed. I feel now is the time to trace their generations back together.  Joining together in  their common religious heritage. Then drink and dance with the whirling dervishes. Healing the fertile crescent. Childlike spiritual emotional hopefulness works too!

Happy are those who find fault with themselves instead of finding fault with others.

Weird Ass

My son and I read Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales together and they are weird ass. We love them and we think about them often. They are based on oral tradition and their roots are based on a time so long ago and yet we blend with them in that place of our imagination. This is why I like William Blake, Albert Einstein, and Nicola Tesla. They take different paths on religion-art, math, and science but what unites them throughout time is their great imagination.

They do something even more profound they also open a door into the imagination of nature. This is also the place of mythology and religion. I am not talking about anything literal as in the dogma of any religion, science, or math formula. My focus is on the weird ass part of all of these; as the funny, strange, and sometimes truthful fantasy that becomes known as theories for example like relativity. A modern combination of astrology and astronomy seems like a paradox but not in the imagination.

The lines between religion-art, math and science seems to be drawn now, but long ago as in fairy tales, never! We can also loosen up our minds now as well. Here we, as human beings, find a strange place in this mystery and it is a very weird ass place.

We go to the Griffith Observatory a lot. My husband and kids are into astronomy. I like it too, but I enjoy the myths that hide behind it, like the ancient stories, the oral traditions and the images that endure over time. Weird ass stories and theories about the universe itself. The only integrity is the sun, moon, planets and beyond. This observatory stands high on a hill just like some weird ass magical castle or Greek temple.

When you walk in its doors and look up you see religion-art, math, and science. It reminds me of a medieval church where bible stories are painted on the walls. Renowned artists, architects and masons were hired to build these stories in stone. People could not read the stories, so they learned by images and symbols. Is it any different today? But it is still very weird ass.

I used to be a member of the Rosicrucian Fellowship based in Oceanside California. There on the grounds is a healing temple. It looks a lot like the Griffith Observatory on the outside and very much the same on the inside. One looks up and sees an artist’s interpretation of the zodiac. The only difference is that the Observatory promotes science, and the healing temple promotes love, healing, and weird ass esoteric Christianity.

Both buildings were built around the same time. I am an oddball that uses my imagination too much. I do admit to listening to the whispers of those long ago, once upon a time, oral traditions too closely. I find that my imagination cannot tell the difference between the two. They both look-alike and teach religion-art, math, and science. Yes, the focus is different, but it is the same stuff.

After reading Brothers Grimm Fairy Tale before my son goes to bed, I often walk outside and look at the night sky. With all that we know about religion-art, math, and science. It is still very weird ass to me!!

A special treat….

Sacred place watercolor by Hudley 2011

Images come forth and I work with them for long periods of time. I put them up where I can see them and reflect on them in oder to understand them.  I wait often until the meaning comes to me. I understand on  a personal level and on a collective level as a human being. Remembering some long ago fellowship lost in antiquity but found again in an image, in the words of another, and found at a place that still holds its meaning.

The symbol of Praying Mantis when having sex is not what you may think.

The Minoans were “synthetic” in their thinking; that is, they focused on the interrelatedness of experience, in contrast to the later development of the Aristotelian or analytic approach of distinguishing differences and separating elements as a way of knowledge.

Aguilar, A. Marina. Alchemy of The Heart: The Sacred Marriage of Dionysos & Ariadne. Chiron Publications. Kindle Edition.

People seem to focus on the probability of the female Praying Mantis biting off the head of her mate while engaged in sex. This may or may not be true. Does anyone go beyond this?

The real focus is on the sacrifice of the male. One male (or maybe more) one female then impregnation…then comes the egg sack. Glory be because then comes the next generation of thousands of perfect little baby Praying Mantis.

Why is it that no one talks about the Big Mama Praying Mantis dying after laying her ootheca? Statistically males that do not mate continue to go on to have a much longer lifespan then the female.

The reproductive cycle of the Praying Mantis is what it is, but it is not just the male that sacrifices his life… so does the female!!

In fact, they both do!!

Symbolically it is a ridiculously impressive analogy and the archetype of family.

In general, we do what we must to continue the life cycle. Luckily for human beings it is not as dramatic as in the life cycle of the Praying Mantis. I find it is best described from a Jungian perspective.

The magic causality or serendipity of Praying Mantis.

The Praying Mantis is a wondrous creature of nature and like nature is primal in understanding… if we choose to!
